Kairana: Meerut Inspector General Ajay Anand on Monday said that they have recommended the names of three policemen, who after facing a lot of trouble arrested one of the armed men involved in the sensational Nabha jailbreak , for the prestigious gallantry awards.
"Our three personnel involved in this operation are namely Shehzad Ali, Deepanshu Tyagi and Rampal. A reward has been announced for them along with the gallantry award recommendation," Anand told the media.
Huge amount of arms and ammunition were recovered, informed Anand.Retorting over the recent Punjab jail break, Ulio Francis Riberio, former Punjab DGP, hailed the Intelligence Bureau for promptness and also advised the police forces to be more diligent.
"First thing is how did they escape? Obviously they had planned the whole thing. The miscreants were dressed as policemen. This is a very old trick it should've been anticipated but people become complacent. 24x 7 we have to be careful. The intelligence did a wonderful job," said Riberio.
In a major breakthrough, police arrested Parminder Singh, one of the Nabha jail attackers, from Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh yesterday.
Parminder is said to be the mastermind of the high-security Nabha jailbreak incident. As per the report, he was caught while trying to flee to Nepal in a car. His arrest has come as the first breakthrough in the jailbreak incident.
