Kanpur: Doctors of Indian Veterinary Research Institute worked overnight as they finished this morning the second post mortem of the 31 black bucks mauled by stray dogs at the Kanpur zoological park.
The zoo administration, however, did not reveal its findings, saying the team of doctors will submit its report to state forest department.

Zoo Director K Thomas, who took over after suspension of his predecessor K Praveen Rao following the incident, said only the forest department, before which the report will be submitted, will disclose the findings.
The team of IVRI doctors had arrived at the zoo last night and finished the post mortem this morning, he said.
The first post mortem had found that 18 out of the 31 antelopes attacked by the dogs had died of shock.
However, 29 of them had teeth and claw marks on their bodies.

Suspecting a foul play, the state government had ordered another post mortem of the black bucks, besides suspending the zoo director and six others. Black bucks fall under the "near-threatened" species of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
