Ramdev, Amit Shah plotted Uttarakhand government crisis, alleges Congress
On March 19, Governor K K Paul had asked the Congress-led state government to prove majority in the House by March 28.
New Delhi: The Congress on Thursday accused the famed yoga guru, Baba Ramdev and Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah of fuelling the ongoing political crisis in Uttarakhand and said that they have “hatched a conspiracy to destablise the Harish Rawat-led government”.
“Ramdev ji and Amit Shah ji have hatched a conspiracy to destablise the Uttarakhand government,” state Congress leader Kishore Upadhyay said.
On March 19, Governor K K Paul had asked the Congress-led state government to prove majority in the House by March 28.
Rawat's government fell into a crisis after at least nine of his MLAs withdrew their support and expressed their allegiance to the BJP, giving a clear lead to the saffron party in the Assembly.
The BJP has asked the governor to invite them to form the government, claiming that the present Congress dispensation is in a minority since the dissident MLAs have switched their sides.
Meanwhile, Ramdev has refuted the allegations against him and said that he has not met any BJP functionary over the Uttarakhand issue.
“I didn't speak to any MLA or party worker in this regard even in my dreams, let alone Amit Shah ji or Modi ji,” the yoga guru said.
