Cyclonic storm in Bay of Bengal weakens into deep depression
Cyclonic storm Kyant in the Bay of Bengal on Thursday weakened into a deep depression and lay centred about 280 km south-southeast of Visakhapatnam, Met officials here said.

According to a bulletin of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the deep depression over west-central Bay of Bengal moved further west-southwestwards.
"It is most likely to move west-southwestwards and weaken further into depression during the next 12 hours," it said.
The Visakhapatnam Cyclone Warning Centre has forecast squally winds with speed of 35-45 kmph along and off Andhra Pradesh coast. As the sea condition will remain rough, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea for the next 24 hours.
It forecast light to moderate rainfall at many places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and heavy rainfall at isolated places over south coastal areas of the state during the next 72 hours (October 28 to 31).
