Two persons killed, three injured in Malda accident

Malda: Two persons were killed and three others were injured when a car lost control and rammed into a tree at Tajpur in Malda district in the early hours today.

Deputy chief (upapradhan) of Bulbulchandi gram panchayat, Bikash Karmakar, was among the dead, a police officer said.

The second victim was identified as Mintu Das.

The injured were referred to Kolkata in view of their condition, he said.

The accident took place when the car in which the five persons were returning to Habibpur from Pakua after visiting puja pandals lost control and hit the tree.
