Federal Alliance including United Democratic Madhesi Front denies receiving formal letter for talks

Kathmandu: Federal Alliance, which includes United Democratic Madhesi Front along with many other protesting parties, has said that the government has not corresponded with it for any formal talks.

Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli had said during a public function on Sunday that he had signed on the paper addressed to the alliance urging the agitating parties for formal talks to address their legitimate demands.

However, Federal Alliance's coordinator Upendra Yadav yesterday told ANI at Khula Manch, where the alliance is staging a relay hunger strike, that they have not received any letter signed by the Prime Minister.

He added that he would comment further on this issue only after receiving the letter.

The Federal Alliance is demanding a change in provincial demarcation of the country.
