Jihadi Jack, the first British boy who joined ISIS

Damascus: The first white British man to join terror group ISIS has been identified, according to The Sunday Times report.

As per the reports, 20-year-old Jack Letts joined the Islamic State group and travelled secretly to Syria two years ago.

Originally from Oxford in United Kingdom, Letts apparently converted to Islam and started attending the Madine Masjid mosque, much before he joined ISIS. Letts, reportedly lied to his parents about his motive to join ISIS and told them that he is going to Kuwait to study Arabic in 2014.

Letts, who was a keen footballer and Liverpool football club supporter, admitted to his parents he was with ISIS in Syria in September 2014. Letts's father is an organic farmer and archaeobotanist, while his mother is a book editor in Oxford.

Letts was given the title 'Jihadi John' by his peers in Oxford after they came to know about him joining the ISIS group.

Letts, now believed to be living in Raqqa in Syria, after fleeing the UK when he was 18, uses the name uses the name 'Ibrahim' or 'Abu Mohammad'. Reports also say that he is a frontline fighter for the brutal jihadi group and lives with his Iraqi wife and son Muhammad, after moving to Fallujah city in Iraq from Raqqa.

At least 750 British men and women are said to have joined the terror group in Syria. Upto 100 of those have been killed.
