Shocking! Elderly Christian woman caned for selling alcohol in Indonesia

Jakarta: A shocking video about an elderly Christian woman being publicly thrashed for selling alcohol, which is banned under the Muslim Sharia law in Indonesia, has come to fore.

The video shows a 60-year-old non-Christian woman, convicted of selling alcohol, being thrashed 30 times with a stick publicly in the Aceh province of Indonesia.

The Sharia law was not applicable to non-Muslims in Indonesia until last year. However, non-Muslims came under the jurisdiction of the Sharia regulations in certain situations after a bylaw was passed last year.
