AGARTALA: With just three days to go for Tripura Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two election rallies in the state on Thursday. Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) members are also expected to join the PM in these rallies.
The Prime Minister will address rallies in Santirbazar of South Tripura and Agartala of West Tripura districts.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also visit Itanagar in Arunachal Pradesh and participate in three programmes, including the inauguration of the Dorjee Khandu state convention centre in Itanagar.
The Prime Minister will also dedicate the state civil secretariat building to the nation and will lay the foundation stone of the academic block of the Tomo Riba institute of health and medical science.
Earlier, Tripura BJP chief Biplab Deb said the Modi government will act like a "father figure" to help the poor state stand on its feet and fulfil the party's campaign promises if the party comes to power.
He accused the Left Front of running a “Sarkar's sarkar” – a reference to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar – and not people's 'sarkar' (government), leading to the high unemployment rate and lack of development.
Meanwhile, Congress Party claimed the PM would he use his visit to announce numerous sops.
"He would be giving lip service this time too amounting to `empty vessel sounds much` as 2018-19 Budget has already been presented," Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee president Takam Sanjoy, flanked by his predecessor Padi Richo, told press persons at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here on Tuesday.
