NEW DELHI: Pakistani actor Saba Qamar, who made her Bollywood debut with late actor Irrfan Khan in Hindi Medium five years ago, regrets not being in touch with him.
Saba couldn’t do another film in India as the relations between both the countries (India and Pakistan) became worse due to which Pak actors suffered an unofficial ban in our country.
Now while talking to Pinkvilla, Saba expressed her one regret of not being in touch with Irrfan before his death.
She shared, “I have that regret. After the film when his health deteriorated, I kept thinking that I will call him but I was busy with shooting and travelling so I couldn’t. Then one day I heard about him and I was devastated and shattered. That day I realised that one should avail the time they have, because that time never comes back. If you want to apologise to someone, or express your love then just do it, as that moment won’t come back. So I have that regret that I wish I had called him, spoken to him, and would have been in contact."
For the unversed, Saba made her Bollywood debut with Irrfan Khan in Hindi Medium which got released in 2017. The film was extremely loved by the fans and critics alike.
Talking about Irrfan, the actor died in April (2020) after having a colon infection. The actor was just 53 years old. He was first diagnosed with Neuroendocrine Tumour in 2018 for which he had undergone treatment and even chemotherapy.
However, later he developed an infection and succumbed to the deadly Cancer. His untimely demise has created a huge vacuum in the Hindi film industry.
