New Delhi: Popular Bollywood filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma (RGV) is known for getting into the thick of trouble by his controversial statements. The director recently created yet another controversy by tweeting a sexist remark on International Women’s Day mentioning Sunny Leone's name.
RGV has finally issued an apology on Twitter.
He tweeted:
Was just expressing my feelings but I apologise to all who were offended due to my unintended insensitive tweets in context of women's day
— Ram Gopal Varma (@RGVzoomin) March 9, 2017
My apology is only to those who genuinely got offended and not to those who ranted for publicity nd threatened to take law into their hands

Earlier, reacting to RGV’s tweets, NCP leader Vidya Chavan on Thursday said that they would try to beat him with shoes if he doesn’t apologise for his remark. According to an ANI tweet, Chavan said, “He should apologise for his remark, if he doesn't we will try to beat him with shoes.”
Meanwhile, what triggered this outrage was this tweet by RGV: “I wish all the women in the world give men as much happiness as Sunny Leone gives (sic).”
