Shashi Kapoor's last rites to be held in Mumbai today

New Delhi: Shashi Kapoor, who romanced the nation with iconic films like Deewar died at the age of 79 on Monday. The cremation will be held today in Mumbai at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium reports suggest.

The condolences are still pouring in from the heavyweights of the industry as his close one's reel from the loss of Prithviraj Kapoor's youngest son.

Yesterday Kareena Kapoor Khan was seen rushing to Shashi Kapoor's residence with her husband Saif Ali Khan.

Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Aishwarya Rai were also seen outside Shashi Kapoor's residence along with Karishma Kapoor, Rani Mukerji, and Boney Kapoor.

Amongst the Kapoor family today Ranbir Kapoor and Rishi Kapoor were seen outside the residence.

Shashi Kapoor is known for his work in both English and Hindi films. He was passionate about theatre and built 'Prithvi Theatre' for enthusiasts. He was married to Jennifer Kendal who he met while she was pursuing theatre in Calcutta. She died due to cancer in 1984, which was a big blow for the actor.

The actor is survived by his children Kunal Kapoor, Sanjana Kapoor, and Karan Kapoor.
