New Delhi: Around 12 in the afternoon of Thursday, the news of veteran actor-turned-politician Vinod Khanna's death shocked one and all. Reportedly, Khanna, 70 was suffering from bladder cancer and he passed away in Mumbai.
Khanna was best known for his performances in films like Amar Akbar Anthony, Mere Apne, Qurbani, Dayavan among others.
Considered one of the most handsome lead actors ever in Bollywood, the veteran went on to act with all the leading ladies of that era starting from Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi, Dimple Kapadia, Reena Roy, Shabana Azmi, Rekha and later on with Madhuri Dixit.

Vinod Khanna and Zeenat Aman's pair was considered a hit during the late seventies and early eighties era. The duo paired in Daulat, Qurbani, Hungama and Bombay 405 Miles. Qurbani which released in 1980 went on to become the highest-grossing movie of that year.
Vinod Khanna and Dimple Kapadia worked together in as many as 8 movies, the last one being Salman' Khan's Dabangg which released in 2010. Although, the movie saw their older versions, yet it managed to leave a significant impact on the audiences. The other movies were Insaaf (1987), Aakhri Adaalat (1988), Batwara (1989), Khoon Ka Karz and Lekin (1991), Maarg (1992) and Leela (2002).

Vinod Khanna and Parveen Babi acted together in four movies. Starting from Chor Sipahee which released in 1977, the pair was well appreciated for their sizzling chemistry in Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), The Burning Train (1980) and Taaqat (1982).
More than their movies together which were three in number, the couple was better-known for their alleged affair. Even the 12-year-gap did not dissuade them from being drawn to each other.
As per reports, Amrita Singh's mum's disapproval and the age gap led to their break-up. Both of them paired in Batwara (1989), C.I.D (1990) and Dharam Sankat which released in 1991.
The pair together featured in three movies out of which Dayavan became the most popular due to the sizzling chemistry they shared. Zameen which released in 1987 was their first movie together and it also featured Sanjay Dutt alongside. Maha-Sangram (1990) directed by Mukul S. Anand was the last movie that saw both of them together.
The legend is survived by sons -Akshaye, Rahul, Sakshi, daughter Shraddha and wife Kavita.
