If you intend to visit a bank for financial purposes, you should review the Reserve Bank of India's list of bank holidays. The list indicates that August 15 is a bank holiday due to Independence Day, during which all banks will be closed.
It should be noted that many bank holidays vary from region to region and from bank to bank. Banks will be closed for 18 days in August, depending on the state. The Negotiable Instruments Act Holiday, the Real Time Gross Settlement Holiday, and the Banks' Closing of Accounts Holiday have all been announced by the banking regulator as holidays for lenders. All banks, including those in the public and private sectors, those that are foreign, cooperative, and regional banks, will be closed on the days that have been made known.
