BSNL 7 New Services: Ahead of the country-wide 4G network launch, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) unveiled its brand-new logo. According to the telco, the new logo symbolises trust, strength, and nationwide reach. It has also introduced seven new services including spam protection measures, a national Wi-Fi roaming service, a fibre-based intranet TV service, and a direct-to-device (D2D) connectivity solution.
Notably, this development comes after BSNL introduced a new 4G and 5G-ready over-the-air (OTA) and Universal SIM (USIM) platform in August, in anticipation of the network expansion.
BSNL has launched a spam-free network and is using a custom solution to eliminate scams and spam communication in real time.
BSNL has also launched a national Wi-Fi roaming service for its fibre internet customers. This means users can enjoy high-speed internet at BSNL hotspots without extra charges, helping to lower their data costs.
BSNL has also introduced an exciting new feature for potential subscribers: the chance to acquire unique mobile numbers. The company has launched e-auctions for these prized numbers. Currently, the auctions are available in three BSNL regions: UP East, Chennai, and Haryana.
The UP East auction is live from October 16 and will conclude on October 22. Auctions for the Haryana and Chennai regions will begin on October 18 and 19, respectively, ending on October 27 and October 28.
BSNL announced a new fibre-based TV service that includes over 500 live channels and pay TV options, available at no additional cost to all fibre internet subscribers. Intrestingly, the data used for streaming TV won’t count against their monthly internet allowances.
The new service will allow users to purchase, replace, upgrade or port their SIM cards at any time, taking advantage of QR-enabled UPI payments and multi-lingual capability.
BSNL is also converging satellite and terrestrial mobile networks with its new D2D service. This facility is said to become useful for enabling UPI payments in emergencies and isolated regions.
The telco is also offering additional services like India’s first satellite-to-device connectivity for SMS services, which works on land, air, and sea. (Image Credit: Freepik)
