Citroen, the French carmaker is all set to launch the C3 sub compact SUV in India, which they are calling a B-segment hatchback with SUV styling. The automaker entered India with the C5 Aircross premium SUV, and will launch the C3 small SUV as its most affordable product in India, which will go against the likes of Tata Punch, Maruti Suzuki Ignis and more. The Citroen C3 is being made-in-India and will be exported to ASEAN markets from India. The C3 will drive volumes for the 103 year old auto brand that can be credited with many innovations. The Citroen C3 is the second product from the French carmaker that entered India with the C5 Aircross SUV in 2021 and will launch next product in 2023.
The Citroen C3 was recently unveiled in Goa during the Media drives and is the smallest SUV from the brand, which they are pitching as a B-segment hatchback with SUV styling.
The Citroen C3, however, will compete against sub compact SUVs like the Tata Punch and Mahindra KUV100 apart from premium and tall boy design hatchbacks.
It Citroen C3 gets split headlamps, chunky fenders, and a rounded design. For added flair, it also gets C-pillar mounted door handles.
The Citroen C3 will come with a 1.2 turbo-petrol motor that will put out a rated power output of 110 PS and 190 Nm of max torque and a 1.2-litre NA engine with 82 PS of output.
While the 1.2-litre NA engine gets 5-speed MT setup, the 1.2-litre Turbo gets 6-speed manual setup. While there's no automatic gearbox for now, there's a possibility that the turbo engine can get a DCT setup later on.
The Citroen C3 will lure buyers with its long list of equipment, including - keyless entry, large 10-inch touchscreen infotainment unit, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, climate control, steering mounted audio controls, power windows and more.
The Citroen C3 will be available with 10 different colour options, comprising of single-tone and dual-tone paint schemes. Furthermore, Citroen will be offering 3 customization packs and a total of 70 accessories for the C3.
The Citroen C3 has a boot space rated at 315 litre, while the ground clearance is rated at 180 mm.
Talking of dimensions, the Citroen C3 is decently-sized, with a length of 3,981 mm, a width of 1,733 mm, and a height of 1,586 mm. The Citroen C3 will have the longest wheelbase in its segment of 2,540 mm.
The French automaker has revealed the India plans for the Citroen C3 SUV. The C3 will be launched in India on July 20, while the bookings will open from July 1.
The Citroen C3 is likely to be priced close to Rs 6 lakh, ex-showroom for the base variant, while the range-topping variant is likely to go up to Rs 10 lakh, ex-showroom.
