Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook is known as controversy’s favourite child. Last year, it has been embroiled in so many controversies ranging from propagating hate speech to targeting minorities. The latest was WhatsApp’s privacy policies which have further degraded its name when it comes as it intends to share user data to other apps.
Facebook’s collating of data came to light after the controversial Cambridge Analytica scandal and that raised serious questions on the company’s policies. Another Facebook feature that raises privacy concerns is its ‘off-Facebook activity-tracking feature’, which tracks users' app and website usage on their devices.
However, if a user wishes to stop Facebook from tracking their day to day activities, they can follow these steps.
Refuse permissions for all settings.
Tap on Facebook and then open the Permissions tab.
Open the Settings panel and head over into the ‘Apps and notifications’ section.
Next in line scroll down and tap on the ‘Settings and Privacy Option.’
First open the Facebook app and tap the more options menu located on the top right corner on Android and on the bottom in iOS, respectively.
