Jeep Meridian, the much-anticipated 7-seater SUV from the house of iconic SUV maker like Grand Cherokee and Wrangler is all set for the launch in the Indian market. The new Jeep Meridian is a D-segment SUV and will sit above the Compass in the company's portfolio with an extra row of seating and is based on the same platform as the Compass. It will be offered with a 4X4 all-wheel drive as well as a 4X2 variant. The Jeep Meridian will be manufactured at the company's joint production facility in Ranjangaon, with the Meridian slated to have a high level of localization of over 80%, ensuring competitive pricing. The Meridian's production will begin in May and deliveries of the SUV will begin in June 2022.
Jeep Meridian is the fourth product in India after Jeep Compass (including Trailhawk), Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Wrangler (both offered via CBU route). The Meridian will be made-in-India and the company's Ranjangaon based facility.
Jeep India recently conducted the media drives of the upcoming Meridian ahead of the official launch in Chandigarh, giving us an insight on the off-roading prowess of the SUV.
