Skoda Auto India has launched the Kodiaq facelift in the domestic market at starting price of Rs 34.99 lakh for the base Style trim and going up to Rs 37.49 lakh for the top-spec L&K trim (ex-showroom, India). There's also a mid-level variant of Skoda Kodiaq called Sportline and is priced at Rs 35.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Bookings for the new Skoda Kodiaq SUV is now open and deliveries are expected to begin in the coming days. The Skoda Kodiaq was earlier discontinued in April 2020 due to BS6 norms when the Czech automaker pulled the plug off the diesel variants. Skoda Kodiaq has now returned to Skoda’s line-up nearly two years with a petrol unit.
Skoda Auto India has finally launched the Kodiaq after nearly 2-years of hiatus when Kodiaq was discontinued due to lack of petrol unit. Skoda, in April 2020, decided to launch only petrol vehicles henceforth.
The Skoda Kodiaq gets a new and more upright grille, an elevated bonnet, revised headlights with new LED Daytime Running Lamp signatures and a tweaked front bumper. At the sides are new alloy wheel design and at the back gets updated taillights and bumper.
The Skoda Kodiaq facelift has been launched in three variants - Style, Sportline and L&K trims. The pricing stands at Rs 34.99 lakh, Rs 35.99 lakh and Rs 37.49 lakh respectively (ex-showroom, India). Bookings for this premium SUV have also begun and the deliveries are set to start in the coming days.
Skoda Kodiaq facelift now gets a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder TSI turbo-petrol engine developing 190hp and 320Nm. This engine is paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox and all variants get all-wheel drive as standard.
The Skoda Kodiaq gets a three-row cabin and will compete against the upcoming Jeep Meridian in the premium 7-seater SUV space. Other rivals includes Volkswagen Tiguan AllSpace and Citroen C5 Aircross.
Inside the cabin, the Skoda Kodiaq gets a dashboard similar to the pre-facelift model, however with the Skoda’s new two-spoke steering wheel. It also gets 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, ambient lighting, three-zone automatic climate control and a panoramic sunroof.
More features includes heated and cooled front seats, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay conncetivity, a wireless charging pad and a 12 speaker Canton sound system.
On the safety front, the new Kodiaq gets autonomous hands-free parking, front and rear parking sensors and nine airbags along with dynamic chassis control which adjusts the firmness of the dampers based on the drive mode.
