Lost your Aadhaar card? Don't worry! This quick guide shows you how to retrieve it easily through the UIDAI website. Just follow a few simple steps to recover your Aadhaar number or Enrollment number and get back on track.
Open your web browser and go to the official website of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) by typing www.uidai.gov.in in the address bar. This is the official site where you can manage your Aadhaar details.
On the homepage of the UIDAI website, look for the option that says ‘Retrieve Lost UID/EID’. This option is usually found under the ‘Aadhaar Services’ section. Clicking on it will take you to a new page where you can start the process of retrieving your Aadhaar details.
You will be prompted to enter certain details to verify your identity. Provide your full name, email address, and mobile number. Make sure that the mobile number you enter is the same one that is registered with your Aadhaar, as the OTP (One-Time Password) will be sent to this number.
You’ll need to decide whether you want to retrieve your Aadhaar number or your Enrollment number. If you want your Aadhaar number, select ‘Retrieve Aadhaar Number (UID)’. If you prefer to get your Enrollment number, choose ‘Retrieve Aadhaar Enrollment Number (EID)’.
Click on the button that says ‘Send OTP’. You will receive a six-digit OTP on the mobile number registered with your Aadhaar. Enter this OTP in the provided field on the website. Along with the OTP, you will also need to enter a security code shown on the screen. Once you’ve filled in these details, click ‘Submit’ to proceed.
After successfully verifying your information, you will receive your Aadhaar number or Enrollment number. This information will be sent to the email address or mobile number you provided, depending on your choice during the process.
