On the occasion of World EV Day 2022, Mahindra & Mahindra, unveiled the Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV, the company's first electric SUV. The new Mahindra XUV400, which will be released in phases beginning in January 2023, has a distinctive personality from other Mahindra SUVs thanks to the twin peaks emblem and slick copper finish. According to Mahindra, the first wave of test drives will start in 16 locations in December 2022, and phase one of the deliveries would start by the end of January 2023. The Indian manufacturer will set up a fast charging network throughout India and provide charger alternatives with the SUV.
Mahindra has taken the covers off its first electric SUV in India and is set to launch the new electric car in January 2023.
The rear-end of the car seems to be very similar to the Mahindra XUV300. However, the changes made by the company for the electric SUV are evident in the form of new logo, branding and a smoother body design.
The Mahindra XUV400 screams of the Indian automaker's start of a new legacy and changes that come with it in the form of the copper highlights all over the SUV's body, even on the roof.
Being an EV the Mahindra XUV400 seems to have an abundance of space in its cabin. Similarly, the boot space is quite spacious of around 378 litre.
The cockpit of the Mahindra XUV400 follows the modern design language with a nice new layout for the electric loaded with digital tech and hints of the copper hear and there.
One of the highlights of the electric SUV's cabin is its gear knob with digital features and copper highlights which helps SUV get its power. The Mahindra XUV400 comes with a 39.4kW battery pack that uses Li-ion cells and takes 50 minutes to complete 80% charging with a 50kW DC fast charger.
The front fascia of the Mahindra XUV400 replaces the grill that is seen in the SUV300 with a completely covered grill with the copper twin-peaks ligi and a pattern for a new design.
The cabin of the Mahindra XUV400 comes loaded with features like an infotainment touchscreen digital instrument cluster. It also gets steering-mounted controls for the driver's convenience.
The Mahindra XUV400 is the same Mahindra eXUV300 showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo and is 4200 mm long, with a wheelbase of 2600 mm, and 1821 mm (widest e-SUV) stacking it against mid-size SUVs
While Mahindra has unveiled the SUV in two colour options - Arctic Blue and Napoli Black, however, it will be available in five colours: Arctic Blue, Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Napoli Black, and Infinity Blue, with a dual tone roof option in Satin Copper finish.
