New Delhi: Realme Book Slim has been launched in India on Wednesday (August 19), marking the debut of the Chinese smartphone brand in India’s laptop market that has witnessed a massive surge in the demand amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the launch of the Realme Book Slim, Realme has joined the likes of Chinese brands such as Xiaomi and Huawei which have been trying their luck in the laptop segment.
Realme Book Slim is a 15.5mm thick laptop, which weighs just 1.38 kilograms, lighter than most of the laptops in the price range.
Realme Book Slim has been launched with the 11th Gen Intel Core processors. The laptop has been launched in two variants depending on core specs - one with the Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB RAM and 256 GB SSD storage and the other with Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM + 512GB storage.
The laptop runs on Windows 10 operating system, which will get a Windows 11 upgrade in the coming months. The laptop is also powered by the Intel Iris Xe graphics, using which customers can play low-end titles. Moreover, Realme claims that the battery of the laptop can run for up to 11 hours.
Realme Book Slim sports a 14-inch IPS display that offers a brilliant 2k resolution and 100 per cent sRGB colour gamut, according to the company’s claims. The display with a 3:2 aspect ratio is said to be brighter than others in the price range.
The newly launched laptop comes with a slew of connectivity options such as Bluetooth, USB, Wi-Fi 6 and Thunderbolt 4. The latter two features will help the laptop in getting better internet speeds.
Realme Book Slim has been launched at a price point of Rs 46,999 for the base variant which packs the Intel Core i3 processor, 8GB RAM and 256 GB SSD storage. The model with Intel Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM + 512GB storage is priced at Rs 59,999.
Realme is offering a massive discount of Rs 5,000 on the Inter I5 processor variant as part of the launch offer and it selling at Rs 56,999. The i3 processor variant is getting a Rs 2,000 discount and will be available at Rs 44,999.
Customers can buy the laptops starting from August 30 from e-commerce platforms such as Flipkart and Realme’s official store or through select retail outlets.
The Chinese consumer electronics company has launched the Realme Book Slim in two colour options: Real Blue and Real Grey. There is no difference in the prices based on the colour variants.
