New Delhi: Since Indians prefer two-wheelers over cars for short distances, electric bikes have suddenly started making noise in India’s automobile industry. With the rising fuel prices across the country, electric vehicles have started to make much more sense.
With the government offering serious incentives to encourage Indians to get their hands on electric bikes, automakers are also stepping up to grab the opportunity with both hands.
From traditional makers going electric to new startups coming to the picture, India is all set to witness a slew of electric bike launches in the coming months. Out of all speculated launches, we have shortlisted the five exciting electric bikes to be rolled out in the Indian automobile market:
Ola Electric’s much-awaited scooter could launch in July 2021. The electric scooter is said to be offering a 100-150 km range on a single charge. The bike could sport features such as a removable Lithium-ion battery, alloy wheels, and telescopic suspension at the front, among others.
Ola is also setting up a network of 5000 charging stations across India. The charger is said to be capable of charging 50% of the battery of the Ola Scooter within a few minutes, which should be enough for a 75 km range.

The electric scooter could be priced at around Rs 1,20,000 and will rival the likes of Ather 450X and Ola Electric.
