WhatsApp is the most used messengers in India. It has recently launched payment services which use UPI.
In order to transfer money through WhatsApp, open the chat window of the person you want to send money to.
You will need to click on the attachment icon after that.
First-time users will have to register here first.
Before using WhatsApp Payment, users will need to register for UPI payment.
The users will need to confirm the bank details in their respective UPI gateway.
This includes your bank account number, date of birth, ATM pin and OTP on your registered mobile number.
After completing the registration process, open the chat window of the person you intend to transfer money to and click on WhatsApp Payment in the attachment.
Users will need to enter the amount in the given space.
After that, users will need to enter their UPI PIN.
The money will be transferred.
When using WhatsApp Payment, keep a few things in mind. For example, do not give credit card or debit card details in the app.
Nobody from the WhatsApp or bank will ever ask you for your personal details. If someone tries to get this information from you, do not share it at any cost, it is a scam.
Users are advised to follow certain things while using WhatsApp Payment.
The users are advised to not share sensitive information such as credit card, debit card details with anyone on the app.
There are many scams going on which work on the vulnerability of customers. Please beware of such frauds.
