The annual Economic Survey will be given to MPs on Tuesday, the first day of the budget session of the House of Representatives and one day before the Union budget is submitted.
Following its introduction in Parliament by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the document would be made public in a news conference by Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) V Anantha Nageswaran.
The report examines changes that occurred in the Indian economy throughout the previous fiscal year (2022-23, in this case). Volume I, Volume II, and the statistical appendix are included.
Additionally, it aids in understanding the budget, which is provided the next day. The survey was first presented in 1950–1951, and it was separated from the budget in 1964 so that it could offer context for the latter.
Under the direction of the CEA, it is created by the Economics Division of the Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) of the Ministry of Finance.
Live coverage of the presentation of the paper will be available on the Facebook and Twitter accounts of the Finance Ministry, Sansad TV, Doordarshan, and the Press Information Bureau PIB). Interested one can also watch on different news stations.
