Here's Rubina Dilaik's journey: From an IAS aspirant, Chhoti Bahu to Bigg Boss 14

Rubina came into the reality show with a huge fan base she had earlier garnered with her roles in television daily soaps and reality shows. Over 140 days of battle inside the house had seen Rubina maintain her position all along as a strong contender for the trophy. She defeated Rakhi Sawant, Aly Goni, Rahul Vaidya and Nikki Tamboli in the grand finale. 

Her winning attitude was also noted by her seniors, Gauahar Khan and Hina Khan, who stated that 'they see a clear winner of BB14 in her". However, their fellow contestant Sidharth Shukla, had then disagreed with her. Throughout her journey on the show, Rubina received praise from several celebrities for playing the game with dignity and respect.

Apart from her fierce arguments with her contestants on the season, Rubina also found some new-found friends in Nikki Tamboli and Aly Goni. In the last few episodes of Bigg Boss 14, we saw how both Rubina and Rahul decided to bury all the hatches and mend their relationship. Rubina also spoke about her fallout with Jasmin during one of the tasks - 'Panchayat', and mentioned how she wished that the task would've never happened. 

Born and brought up in Shimla, Rubina wanted to be an IAS officer and was preparing for it when she got selected as the lead for the popular television show 'Chhoti Bahu'. She gained recognition and became a household name by playing Radhika Shastri in the show opposite actor Avinash Sachdev, and reprised the role in the show's sequel. She went on to appear in several shows - 'Saas Bina Sasural', 'Punar Vivah - Ek Nayi Umeed', 'Devon ke Dev...Mahadev'. 

In 2016, Rubina broke the stereotype and took a huge rick when she portrayed Soumya Singh, a transgender woman in television daily soap 'Shakti — Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki' opposite Vivian Dsena. The show went on to become a huge hit and topped the charts for several months. Rubina, who quit the show after it took a leap in 2020, was massively praised for taking up the role and playing it with grace. 

In 2016, Rubina was ranked eleventh in the 50 Sexiest Asian Women List by Eastern Eye. She moved up a place to the tenth spot in the same list in 2017.

Rubina Dilaik tied the knot with Abhinav Shukla in a dreamy, intimate ceremony in Himachal Pradesh. The couple's marriage became a talking point after Rubina's shocking revelation on the show that their marriage had hit a rock and they were considering separation. However, the duo decided to give one last chance to their marriage by entering Bigg Boss 14 together and hoping to resolve their issues. Fortunately, it worked! Rubina and Abhinav found love again and the actor even proposed to his lady love on the Valentine's Day episode of the reality show.
