With Thalaivii, Kangana Ranaut has once again chosen a character that suits her personal beliefs and shows woman empowerment.
Kangana is playing J Jayalalithaa, who served as Tamil Nadu's chief minister for many terms, in the film directed by AL Vijay.
Thalaivii will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. However, the film is likely to take the OTT route soon after the theatrical release.
The film will have characters modelled on the personalities of J Jayalalithaa, MG Ramachandran and M Karunanidhi, and thus it may invoke some politically charged statements.
After Thalaivii, Kangana has Dhaakad and Tejas in the pipeline. Both these films will feature her as the central character.
With a limited theatrical release window, will Thalaivii be able to make money at the box office?
