Javed Akhtar confirms son Farhan Akhtar's wedding to girlfriend Shibani Dandekar, reveals details

Speaking exclusively to Bombay Times, Javed Akhtar said, "Yes, the wedding is taking place. Rest, shaadi ki jo taiyyariyan hain that is being taken care of by the wedding planners."

Javed Akhtar added that only a limited people will be a part of the intimate ceremony. "Taking the situation into consideration it is obvious that we cannot host anything on a large scale. So, we are only calling a few people. It will be a very simple affair. Khair abhi tak toh invitations bhi nahi bheje gaye hai," he shared. 

Akhtar also spoke about Shibani Dandekar as the family is all set to welcome her in the house. "She is a very nice girl. All of us like her very much. The most important thing is that Farhan and she get along very well, which is great," he told BT. 

As per TOI, Farhan and Shibani will be doing a registered marriage on February 21, which will be followed by an intimate gathering, involving only close friends and family members from both sides. 

Farhan and Shibani Dandekar started dating in 2018. The actor-filmmaker was earlier married to hair stylist Adhuna Bhabani. The former couple shares two daughters - Shakya and Akira. On the work front, he will direct a film, 'Jee Le Zaraa' starring Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif.
