Rath Yatra 2021begins on July 12. The festival is organised every year at the famous Jagannatha temple in Puri, Odisha, India. The temple is one of the four Hindu pilgrimage centers known as Char Dham.
The pilgrimage takes place on Dwitiya Tithi during Shukla Paksha of Ashada month each year (which falls in the month of June or July).

According to an ANI report, the Rath Yatra will be held without devotees as only servitors with a negative COVID-19 test report will be allowed to take part in the pulling of chariots.
Lord Jagannatha, along with his brother Balabhadra and sister Devi Subhadra, is worshipped during the Puri Rath Yatra. Lord Jagannatha is considered an avatar of Lord Vishnu.
Jagannatha literally means Lord of the Universe or entire 'Jagath'.
This year marks the 144th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannatha.
"Today, the routine rituals of the deities which includes ‘Mangala Aarti’, ‘Mailam’, ‘Abakasha’, ‘Surya Puja’, ‘Dwarapala Puja’, ‘Rosa homa’, ‘Gopalaballava dhupa’, ‘Sakala Dhupa’(Khechudi bhoga) were completed early morning," tweeted the official account of Shree Jagannatha Temple, Puri.
