New Delhi: President, Vice-President and Prime Minister on Thursday paid homage to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Jayanti.
Dr BR Ambedkar always raised his voice against cast discrimination and was the first to envision India as a country where all the citizens are treated as equal under the law.

Political leaders offer tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti. President Ram Nath Kovind, PM Modi, Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Senior Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and others paid floral; tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar.
President Ram Nath Kovind offered tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar. Earlier in the day, President Kovind also took it to Twitter and said, "Humble tribute to Babasaheb on Ambedkar Jayanti! A strong advocate of social justice, Babasaheb laid the foundation of modern India as a constitutional architect. Let us do our part in building an inclusive society following his ideal of 'Indian first, Indian later and Indian last.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar today. Taking to Twitter, Modi wrote, “Tributes to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his Jayanti. He has made indelible contributions to India’s progress. This is a day to reiterate our commitment to fulfilling his dreams for our nation.”
Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said, “On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the founder of the Constitution of India, Bharat Ratna, I pay homage to their memory. Ambedkar's teachings that the moral development of the people is the true development of the country are always practical.”
“Dr. Ambedkar was a philosopher, great philosopher, economist and social reformer who was a beacon of hope for the downtrodden and the upliftment of the Dalits. Their efforts to eradicate various forms of discrimination in society, including untouchability, will go down in history,” he added.
BJP leaders Meenakashi Lekhi, Piyush Goyal, Anurag Thakur, Congress' Mallikarjun Kharge, and other parliamentarians paid floral tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar in Central Hall of Parliament on the occasion of Ambedkar Jayanti.
