Leh: Amid border row with China, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Bipin Rawat and Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria visited Ladakh sector and reviewed the operational preparedness at the Line of Actual Control (LAC) on Monday and Tuesday (January 12, 2021).
Rawat and Bhadauria's visits come at a time when the Indian Armed forces are involved in a border row with the Chinese forces since the first quarter of 2020.
Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat arrived at Ladakh on Monday and was received by Lt Gen YK Joshi, Army Commander, Northern Command.
Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria, Chief of the Air Staff, Indian Air Force undertook a visit to Air Force Stations and Advanced Landing Grounds in Ladakh on Monday.
During the visit, CAS interacted with field commanders and was briefed on the op preparedness and status of deployed forces at air bases as well as in the forward areas. He also interacted with IAF and Indian Army personnel deployed at these locations.
CDS Rawat also interacted with the troops deployed in forward areas.
CDS Bipin Rawat appreciated troops' high morale and motivation in defending the territorial integrity of the nation.
During the visit to Thoise, Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria reviewed the ongoing logistic operations for support and sustenance of troops in the winter season.
He also visited DBO and Nyoma ALGs where he was given a security overview in the respective sub-sectors.
The CAS RKS Bhadauria conveyed his deep appreciation for the exceptionally high levels of morale and dedication with which all personnel continue to maintain operational preparedness; despite the harsh weather and inhospitable terrain.
