The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday (September 28, 2021) afternoon said that Cyclone Gulab has weakened into a low-pressure area after bringing intense rainfall over the eastern coast and central India. It, however, is again likely to intensify further after reaching the western coast, the weather department warned.
The IMD said that there is a possibility that the system may intensify into a cyclone as it reaches the Arabian Sea.
The Met department also predicted an intense spell of rainfall over several states.
