After a respite, heatwave made a comeback in Delhi and sent the temperatures soaring to 47 degrees Celsius in many parts on Saturday (June 4). A look at how Delhiites coped with the searing mercury.
The highest temperature in the national capital was recorded at 47.1 degrees at Mungeshpur, making it the hottest place in the city., while at the Safdarjung Observatory, Delhi's base station, the maximum temperature settled at 43.9 degrees.

Amid searing heat, Sports Complex, Pitampura, Najafgarh, Jafarpur and Ridge logged a high of 46.9 degrees Celsius, 46.5 degrees Celsius, 46.2 degrees Celsius, 45.7 degrees Celsius and 45.5 degrees Celsius, respectively, PTI reported.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has notified a yellow alert, warning of heatwave at isolated places in Delhi on Sunday.

Temperature is likely to further rise in Delhi as the IMD has predicted a mainly clear sky over the next four to five days.

Heatwave conditions are likely to continue for the next two to three days over Rajasthan, Jammu, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, south Uttar Pradesh and north Madhya Pradesh, the IMD said.
