The Indian Railways has recently introduced a seven coach glass-enclosed vistadome train on the heritage Kalka-Shimla route.
Decorated with balloons, the red-coloured train was flagged off from the Kalka railway station in Haryana.
With the introduction of this train, the tourists headed to Shimla will be able to experience snow and rainfall in these glass-enclosed coaches.
The vistadome coaches have been tastefully decorated with plush interiors and tourists will also get a chance to feel close to the nature on the 95.5 km route with big glass windows in the air-conditioned train
Each Vistadome coach will have a seating capacity of 15 persons, including five window seats on both sides. The first-class coach can accommodate 14 passengers.
The 'Him Darshan' train has a seating capacity of over 100 passengers. The train will have seven coaches including one first-class sitting cum luggage room coach (FCZLR) and six first class AC Vistadom coaches.
This special train will commute between the Kalka and Shimla station for the next one year till December 24, 2020. Him Darshan Express will start its journey from Kalka station at 7 am and reach Shimla at 12.55 pm.
