Today marks the 153rd birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation and the freedom fighter, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, also known as Mahatma Gandhi. Known for his ideals of 'ahimsa', October 2 is recognised as the International Day of Non-Violence by the United Nations General Assembly since 2007.
