According to news agency PTI, IMD officials predicted light to moderate showers for the national capital on Thursday. The IMD has issued a 'yellow' alert for today. Earlier, on Wednesday, even though the Met department warned of extremely bad weather conditions, rainfall evaded most parts of the city. "The city will see generally cloudy sky with light rain and thundershowers," an IMD official said.

A yellow alert has been sounded for East Uttar Pradesh and heavy rainfall has been predicted in the regions till September 26. IMD had advised the people to take necessary precautions in view of the bad weather conditions.

A yellow warning has been issued in the state of Himachal Pradesh for the next two days and the temperature is predicted to dip by 2-3 degrees Celsius, said officials from India Meteorological Department. Speaking to ANI, Buni Lal, Scientist from IMD Shimla said that a yellow alert has been issued in the state for the coming two days. "There will be low visibility and a dip in temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius during the next two days," he added.

As per IMD officials, Telangana's capital Hyderabad is likely to receive heavy rainfall on Thursday. The weather department has also predicted that light to moderate showers will continue to lash several parts of the city for the next three to four days. On Wednesday, several districts in the state received heavy rainfall.

IMD on Thursday morning said that various parts of Haryana and Rajasthan are likely to receive light to moderate showers. “Light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of Bawal (Haryana) Tizara, Khairthal (Rajasthan) during next 2 hours,” tweeted IMD. “Light to moderate intensity rain would occur over and adjoining areas of Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Adampur (Haryana) during next 2 hours,” it said in another tweet.
