President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday attended the Victory Day Parade as the "Guest of Honour" in Bangladesh to mark its 50 years of victory in the Liberation War against Pakistan. President Kovind and First Lady Savita Kovind were greeted by President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on their arrival at the venue.
The president also attended a banquet organised to honour India and witnessed the victory day parade in which, an Indian contingent of Armed Forces also participated.
