India lockdown amid coronavirus COVID-19 scare: Day 18 in pics

On the 18th day of the 21-day lockdown imposed to stop the spread of coronavirus continues, the number of people infected has increased to 7,447 which includes 6,565 active cases, 642 recovered cases, 1 migrant patient and 239 fatalities as per Ministry of Health latest data. Meanwhile, several hotspots across 15 districts in Uttar Pradesh were sealed completely with the authorities assuring that basic amenities would be home delivered to the trapped residents.

PM Narendra Modi chaired a meeting with Chief Ministers to discuss plans on the extension of lockdown. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Punjab CM Amrinder Singh urged PM Modi to extend the lockdown to avoid the spread of the deadly virus.

Essential commodities stored at airport for supply

Ever since the lockdown came into force, around 19 lakh pieces of Face Masks, two lakh bottles of Sanitizers, 1.5 lakh PPE Kits and 50,000 other medical equipment have been channelized across India via flights.
