Toddler infected with Omicron variant in Maharashtra

As per the recent report from the National Institute of Virology, a total of seven new Omicron cases have been reported in Maharashtra, taking the total Omicron positive cases to 17 in the state. The four new patients in Pune include a three-and-half-year-old child, while Mumbai reported 3 cases. Of the seven, four patients are asymptomatic, while 3 are having mild symptoms. India has 32 Omicron cases so far.

Kerala govt to reopen traditional route to Sabarimala

In view of the decline in COVID cases, Kerala government has decided to give more relaxations in restrictions imposed for Sabarimala pilgrimage. The decision was taken in a meeting between Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Devaswom Minister K Radhakrishnan. According to the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), it has been decided that the traditional route to Sabarimala from Pampa via Neelimala, Apache medu and Marakoottam will be opened for devotees.
