A countless number of passengers use rail services across the country for commuting to their offices, homes and other destinations every day. Unfortunately, many passengers meet unexpected mishaps while trying to board or deboard trains or by falling from a fast moving train, fatally injuring themselves in the process. Luckily, in most of the cases, several mishaps are averted due to the alertness and prompt action of brave and vigilant railways staffers, policemen and, even the commoners, present at the railway stations who immediately rush to save the life of a passenger in the quickest possible time.
These people come from all walks of life and by saving a precious life deserve salutation for their bravery, alertness and prompt action. Here are some of those heroes who have been rewarded for their bravery in helping people in most unfortunate times and averting big mishaps.
RPF constable Mukesh Yadav – Mukesh Yadav saved a female passenger who fell while trying to deboard a moving train on Jan 4, 2018 at the Thane railway station.
RPF Constable Virendra Yadav and ST Birajdar: The two saved the life of a 20-year-old lady who slipped in the gap between train and platform while trying to board a moving train on January 5, 2018. The incident took place at the Thane station.
RPF Constable Sandeep Yadav: RPF constable Sandeep Yadav saved the life of a woman who wanted to commit suicide by jumping before a fast approaching train on January 21, 2018, at the Tilak Nagar Railway Station. The lady was later handed over to her family.
Sunil Kumar Napa: This RPF constable saved the life of a 7-year-old boy on January 2, 2018at the Nayagaon Railway Station. The boy wanted to board a moving train along with his mother. While his mother boarded the train, the boy fell on the platform. He was saved by constable Napa.
Ghanshyam Shinde: On February 4, 2018, a lady was trying to board a running train at the CSMT Railway station around 5.40 AM. She fell flat but Shinde, who was present there rushed towards her and saved her from falling into the gap between the train and the platform.
TC Shashikant Chavan: On February 10, 2018, Chavan saved the life of a young man. TC Chavan was discussing something with his colleague around 9.30 AM when he spotted a young man falling from a passing train. he immediately rushed to the spot and dragged the man from coming under the wheels.
Shravan Tiwari: This MBA student an old man lying in a truck on February 10, 2018 on the Churni Road Railway Station. While many assumed that the man is dead, Tiwari went to check with him and found that he was still alive. He informed the authorities which rushed the man to a hospital where his life was saved.
