Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the much-awaited, revamped Kartavya Path - a stretch from Rashtrapati Bhavan to India Gate on Thursday amid tight security. The redeveloped path is a part of the ambitious Central Vista Project by the Central government. PM Modi also unveiled a grand statue of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose near India Gate by paying floral tribute.
BJP leaders say that changing the name of Rajpath to Kartavya Path is a necessary step to erase India's colonial past.
