World's top Electric Vehicle manufacturer Tesla will be launching its Model Y in Indian car market soon. Tesla has confirmed that it will launch the Model Y in March 2021. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari too has confirmed the news.
Model Y is an entry-level SUV offered from Tesla. Model Y and Model 3 are Tesla's best-selling products and have sold more than 4.5 lakh units worldwide. Tesla's Model Y is offered in three variants including Standard, Long Range All-wheel Drive and Performance.
Tesla Model Y's entry-level, Standard trim is offered with rear-wheel drive and is the most affordable of the lot. The Standard and Long-range variants are offered in a seven-seat pattern whereas the Performance variant is a five-seater.
Tesla uses state-of-the-art electric motors which powers the Model Y. The Long Range model has a top speed of whopping 217 kmph. It does 0-96 kmph in 4.8 seconds.
The Performance variant can reach a top speed of 250 kmph, takes 3.5 seconds to do 0-96 kmph.
Tesla Model Y has an impressive range too. The Long-range variant has a range of 527 km on a full charge. The performance variant has a ranger of 487 km. The Standard variant offers a range of 392 km with a full charge.
The price ranges from USD 40,490 to USD58,490 (Rs. 29.58 lakh to Rs. 42.74 lakh) in the US.
It is expected that Tesla's Model Y will be priced at Rs. 50 lakh in India.
