UP Phase 2, Goa, Uttarakhand Election 2022: Top 5 leaders whose fate will be decided today - in PICS

Assembly elections in Goa, Uttarakhand and parts of Uttar Pradesh are underway today (February 14). As Prime Minister Narendra Modi urged voters to vote in record numbers and strengthen the festival of democracy, these leaders from across the three states will be waiting anxiously as their fate will be decided today. The results will be out next month when the counting of votes take place on March 10.

A prominent contestant in Uttar Pradesh's second phase is Mohammad Azam Khan, who is also known as the ‘King Khan of Rampur’. Azam Khan is contesting the elections from jail. Khan has been lodged in Sitapur jail since February 2020 last year over several cases registered against him. Khan's entire campaign has been run by his wife Tanzeen Fatima and son Abdullah Azam, who is contesting the neighbouring Suar seat. The SP is banking on sympathy for the jailed leader and his family to ensure success on these seats.
