The glacier burst in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district has left many in distress. Indian military personnel teamed up with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) to mount rescue operations. Central and state governments observe the situation closely and said the government has all the needed assistance to handle the situation for now.

The SDRF teams are working 24x7 to conduct the rescue operations in the river looking for survivors.
Mi-17 and ALH helicopters flying from Dehradun to Joshimath with disaster relief teams on board were part of the rescue operations carried out.
ITBP personnel continue their search inside the 2.5 km long tunnel near Tapovan after the disaster.
SDRF teams are scanning the rivers and riverside to find the people who went missing. As per the reports, over 203 people are still missing after the disaster.
The rescue operations for the tragic glacier burst which killed 12 and triggered massive flooding in Dhauliganga and Alaknanda Rivers causing grave damage to houses and the nearby Rishiganga power project is still underway.
