Weather Update: With rainfall across the country, India got relief from heatwave conditions and the soothing weather is likely to continue for the next 5 days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Thursday predicted that no heatwave conditions will prevail over the country and no significant change in the maximum temperatures will be observed for the next 5 days. IMD in its daily weather bulletin, predicted heavy rainfall at isolated places over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal and South interior Karnataka on May 7.
According to IMD, there are no significant changes in the maximum temperatures of most parts of India and the country will not witness any heatwave conditions for next 5 days.
Heavy to very heavy rainfalls are likely over Andaman and Nicobar Islands will and South interior Karnataka on May 7, stated IMD.
According to the Met Department, the states of Haryana and Punjab will witness hailstorms with lightning and gusty winds on May 6.
IMD has advised fishermen to not venture into the seas of the South East Bay of Bengal, Adman & Nicobar Island and Andaman Sea as squally weather with wind speeds reaching 60 kmph will prevail in these areas for the next 3 days.
According to IMD, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning and gusty winds is likely over isolated places in North East India in the next 2 days.
