2023 Mercedes-AMG E53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet Review: Design, Interior, Performance - IN PICS

Low-slung, two-door, cabriolets are a rare sight in this world, which is now dominated by SUVs. The arrival of the 2023 Mercedes-AMG E53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet to Indian shores has certainly brought along some positivity towards the car culture.

The E53 Cabriolet is a sassy-looking car with a distinctive silhouette. A wide nose, long hood, single door, and a proportionate boot with duck-tail spoiler make it lucrative. The squat stance is further accentuated by the Panamericana grille on the nose.

The 2023 Mercedes-AMG E53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet rides on 20-inch rims that fill the arches well, and the rear facet gets the AMG treatment with a sporty diffuser that houses quad exhaust tips. Sadly, not all of them are functional.

Complementing aesthetics is the engine, which is a 3.0L straight-six here. It is tuned to deliver 430 PS against 520 Nm with a turbocharged setup, and it comes coupled to an electric boost system, offering additional 22 extra horses and 250 Nm of torque. The transmission is an 9-speed automatic unit, and the roadster rides on air springs.

The dashboard of the E53 Cabriolet feels familiar, as it is quite like the E-Class. However, with a red-black contrast finish for upholstery and faux carbon fibre inserts, there's enough sportiness in it. The MBUX system is a boon, and the AMG steering wheel comes with two circular pods for drive modes.

With AMG-spec sports seats, the 2023 Mercedes-AMG E53 4MATIC+ Cabriolet keeps occupants in place when pushed hard. After all, it offers a perfect blend of comfort and dynamism. These seats come with a memory function, and they are power-operated. Rear seats are hardly of any use, and can be best left for kids.
