Hyundai Exter SUV Review - Check Design, Cabin, Mileage, Dimensions: IN PICS

The new Hyundai Exter sub-compact SUV has been launched in India and joins an expansive list of SUVs on offer in India by the South Korean automaker, including the Venue, Creta, Alcazar, Tucson among others. 

The Hyundai Exter is launched at a starting price of Rs 5,99,990 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory) and goes upto Rs 9,99,990 lakh (ex-showroom, introductory). Hyundai is offering 5 variants for its smallest SUV, across 11 trims, including the AMT and CNG variants.

The Hyundai Exter's 1.2-litre petrol engine is tuned to offer 19.2 kmpl mileage, while the CNG unit comes with a mileage of 27.1 km/kg.

Hyundai Exter gets a 1.2L NA petrol engine that is used on the Aura, Grand i10 Nios, and i20 and churns out 83 PS/ 113.8 Nm output. There's also a CNG motor pushing 69 PS/ 95.2 Nm output. There's an option of 5-speed MT and 5-speed AMT gearbox.

The Hyundai Exter is a sub-compact SUV, a newly generated segment in the Indian market, with only a handful of options. The Hyundai Exter competes with Tata Punch and Citroen C3 in the segment. 

The Hyundai Exter is a 5 seater SUV with an overall length of 3,815mm, width of 1,710 and a wheelbase of 2,450mm. It has a ground clearance of 185 mm and boot space of 391-litre.

The Hyundai Exter is the first SUV in the segment to offer standard 6 airbags, apart from TPMS (highline), Parking Distance, ESC, ABS with EBD among other features. 

The Hyundau Exter is equipped with a 20.32 cm (8”) HD touchscreen and advanced digital cluster with 10.67 cm (4.2”) colour TFT MID and Hyundai Bluelink, offering over 60 connected features. The SUV offers Dashcam with dual camera (front & rear) and sunroof.

The headlamps are vertical-split units, but sit rather high up the bonnet. Another chunky piece of design element on the front end is the silver scuff plate and bold ‘EXTER’ badging. Sideways, it is upright and gets roof rails and wheel arches.
