The Mercedes-Benz GLB will sit in between the GLA and GLC in the company's Indian lineup. It is 12 mm short of length than the GLC, whereas it is only 10 mm narrower than its elder sibling. However, it is 62 mm taller than the GLC.
Around the rear, Mercedes-Benz GLB gets two-piece tail lamps, which Mercedes-Benz claims take inspiration from the larger GLS for the glow pattern.
Mercedes-Benz GLB, if bought in the AMG trim, it gets sportier bumpers on both ends. The squarish headlamps feature dual-element LED DRL, which also double up as turn indicators.
In the 220d guise, the GLB gets a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine, pushing out 190 hp against 400 Nm. Resultantly, the 0-100 kmph sprint takes 7.6 seconds, while the top speed stands at 217 kmph. It gets an optional AWD system as well. A 1.3L turbo-petrol is a part of the package too.
Sitting behind the multi-function steering wheel is panoramic glass housing for two 10-.25-inch displays that are powered by Mercedes-Benz's MBUX interface. The two-zone climate control is on duty here.
On the AMG trim, contrast stitching for the upholstery is used. The second row also slides and reclines to adjust the space on the thrid-row. Also, the boot lid is power-operated and GLB gets 64-colour ambient lighting.
The GLB gets a large panoramic sunroof, along with a large glass area. The SUV comes equipped with multiple airbags, along with active safety aids.
