India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah attained a massive feat in India's first Test against Bangladesh in Chennai.
Bumrah became only the sixth Indian pacer to scalp 400 international wickets across formats. He also became the third fastest Indian pacer only after Kapil Dev and his teammate Mohammed Shami.
Bumrah took 227 innings to reach the 400-wicket landmark. The likes of Ravichandran Ashwin (216 innings), followed by Kapil (220), Shami (224), and Kumble (226) are ahead of Bumrah in the list.
In the ongoing first Test between India and Bangladesh, Bumrah scalped four wickets in Bangladesh's first innings with an economy rate of 4.50.
Bumrah took the wickets of Shadman Islam, Mushfiqur Rahim, Hasan Mahmud, and Taskin Ahmed.
Bumrah has played 196 international matches where he has scalped 401 wickets at an average of 21.01, with best figures of 6/19.
Talking about the red ball format, Bumrah has picked up 163 wickets at an average of 20.49 in 37 Test matches he played.
Bumrah has taken 149 wickets in 89 ODIs he played for India with an average of 23.55, with the best figures of 6/19.
