India's star opener Yashasvi Jaiswal on Thursday completed 1000 runs in the Test and with this achievement he became the second fastest Indian to reach thousand Test runs.
22 years, 70 days old Jaiswal is now the fourth youngest batter to cross the 1000 runs in the Test mark and joined the elite list of legends like Sachin Tendulkar (19Y, 217D), Kapil Dev (21Y, 27D), Ravi Shastri (21Y, 197D), and Dilip Vengsarkar (22Y, 293D).
The great Sunil Gavaskar completed 1,000 runs in Test cricket in just 21 innings for India which makes him sit fifth on this elite list.
Mayank Agarwal showed great promise in the initial stage of his Test career and he made 1,000 runs in just 19 innings for India.
Cheteshwar Pujara will be known as one of the finest Test players India have ever produced. He replaced the position number of Rahul Dravid in the Test team and he completed 1,000 runs in 18 innings.
In terms of innings, Jaiswal is the second-fastest - 16 - after Vinod Kambli, who accomplished the feat in 14 innings.
Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli sits first on this list as he completed 1,000 Test runs in just 14 innings.
